Where do you go to college and what are you studying?
I go to KU and am studying Journalism Strategic Communications with a minor in Business.
Where are you from and what brought you to Kansas City?
I’m from Maryland, but my parents just recently moved to Florida, so I’m kind of in-between. I guess I came to Kansas because it was different, and a lot of my family is from the Midwest and they talked very highly about it so I kind of just made the move. How do you think KC compares to the East coast? It’s completely different. The people here are so nice.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I have a food blog on Instagram. It doesn’t have a lot of followers but it’s getting there. I’d like to try every restaurant in Kansas City and get a good picture of it. It gets expensive but that’s what my boyfriend’s for.
What’s one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I kind of have my own business; I make bath bombs. I’m in the process of redoing the website and Etsy account and haven’t had the time to make them for a little while because I’ve been traveling, but the business is called LavishBombz. My goal is to start selling them at the Kansas City market.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best was from the CEO at my old job. He says to always surround yourself with people that know more than you because you grow more as a person, and to always bring what you’ve learned beforehand to the table.
What do you want to get out of your time here at SVG?
I’d like to grow more as a person and be more comfortable in situations that may not always be what I’m best at. I’d also like to gain a better understanding of how different companies work. I really just want to grow as a person, and I’m very open-minded so I feel like this will open many doors for me.

I grew up in the North KC area. I go to Mizzou and major in English and Digital Storytelling with an emphasis in creative writing.

“Do what you want to do. Follow your dreams and don’t concern yourself with what everyone else is doing.”
What is your idea of success?
Following your dream and being HAPPY with what you’re doing. If I wrote a book and only a few people bought it, I would still be content because I’m doing what I love.
What is your spirit animal and why?
A cat or a koala because they sleep all day and don’t worry about doing anything for anyone. Independent.
I really really really hate pigeons. Take a rat and let it fly, that’s what a pigeon is.
What is number one on your summer bucket list?
Go to concerts, visit my best friend who goes to school in Chicago, and go camping with friends!
At one point I had every line to 13 going on 30 memorized. It’s a classic.
Reeses Peanut butter cups
I have a black belt in taekwondo. I got it when I was thirteen because my dad wanted my sister and me to learn self-defense but we made him do it with us. This fact wins me the game “two truths and a lie” every time.
Trade Lives with anyone for the day?
Either Guy Fieri because I think he’s ridiculous and I just want to see what his life is about, or female comedians who write their own shows such as Alana Glazer or Abbi Jacobson. I really look up to them and the fact that they get to goof around, write scripts, and play themselves on TV every day.
