Inside SVG: Maile Widman

For this month’s Inside SVG, we spoke with Maile Widman, Content Marketing Specialist and lover of all things Salvador Perez.

What do you do here at SVG?

I create things. I help write blog posts, manage social media accounts, and create other original content for SVG and its brands. Thus far in my first month, I’ve had my hand in a wide variety of projects including the creation of a new audio/video studio.

If you had a billboard over downtown Kansas City, what would it say?

Can I have two?

Yes, of course.

Okay, the first one asks Royals Catcher Salvador Perez if he will marry me. The second one would remind people that the more you give in life, the more you get, and spreading love is the best thing you can give to anyone.

When you think of success, who is the first person that comes to mind?

It’s definitely my father. He’s someone that is relentlessly dedicated to doing what’s right. He understands that by living a character-driven life, you set yourself up for long-term success. A lot of people look for the quick fix or the easy road to fulfillment. When you do that, you’re bound to cheat yourself or someone else of a valuable experience.

What is the best piece of advice he’s ever given you?

Every day is a good day, some are just better than others. When you live with that in the back of your head, your frame of mind shifts to seeing the good in people and situations no matter how they may appear on the surface.

In three to five words, describe your first few weeks at SVG.

Refreshing, Fulfilling, Drone, Sarcastic, Dialed. (Editor’s note: Dialed is a term used frequently by SVG’ers to describe something that is very well put together. Example: This edition of Inside SVG is so dialed.)

If you were a superhero, what would your power be?

Flying. It would make traveling so much simpler and I wouldn’t have to pay outrageous airline prices.

SVG has a set of three core values. What are your most important personal values?

Honesty, dedication, and love.
